Here at Lynwood, we have had some type of recovery ministry as it relates to alcoholics and addicts, for more than six years. However, Celebrate Recovery goes way beyond that. Sexual and pornography addiction for both men and women is growing at an exponential rate. Gambling boats and lottery tickets are readily available. Divorce is at an all time high. For Christians, this is our reality. The illusion that these issues only affect those outside the church walls must be smashed.
Celebrate Recovery meets every Tuesday night. Join us at 5:00 p.m. for a supper in the Fellowship Hall ($1.00 per person). Large group worship begins at 6:00 p.m., followed by small support groups for men and women at 7:00 p.m.. Enjoy dessert and fellowship with others in the Solid Rock Café at 8:00 p.m. Celebrate Kids and Life Hurts, God Heals is available for children and students. Free childcare is provided for children up to age 3. Celebrate Recovery Schedule: Free Childcare: Celebrate Recovery also meets every Friday night at the Salvation Army Center, 701 Good Hope, Cape Girardeau, at 6:30 p.m. and Thursday nights at La Croix United Methodist Church, 3102 Lexington Avenue, Cape Girardeau at 6:30 p.m.
Celebrate Kids: Celebrate Kids is a Bible-based support group program that helps children ages 4-12 deal with the stresses of living in today’s world. Celebrate Kids uses the Confident Kids curriculum which has been used by many churches and other Christian organizations to offer hope, help, and healing to struggling families. Children are guided into a relationship with God and taught how to use prayer and the Bible as resources for dealing with their life circumstances. Please contact us for more information.
Life Hurts... God Heals: If you or a teen you know is struggling with hurts, habits and hang-ups, then we encourage you to come to "Life Hurts, God Heals," a safe place to discover the healing and freedom that Christ offers you. Life Hurts, God Heals (LHGH) is specifically for students who have experienced pain or addiction such as drinking, cutting, pornography, eating disorders, or troubled family dynamics. This is a peer-led group.
